Ministries and Committees

Outreach Ministry

Outreach Ministries currently include: Linwood Christian Church food pantry donations, Walk for Water, Holiday Family (identify a family and organize the church's donations), Peace Garden (Provides fresh produce to Carmel UMC Food Pantry), Angel Tree (provides Christmas gifts to those in nursing homes), Bread for the World, Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County (collection and delivery of clothing and household items to donation center).

HomeTouch Ministry

Every other month, our dedicated HomeTouch Ministry Team delivers gift bags to those in our congregation who are homebound or have imitated mobility. This is an outreach ministry designed to help these folks feel connected and never forgotten. Donations are collected, and the bags are assembled and delivered by the members of the HomeTouch Ministry Team.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry directs the planning and coordination of programs in youth education and spiritual development. The team determine policies, handles scheduling, recruits volunteers, and arranges the resources needed. Other responsibilities include promoting church camp for all ages. All activities which take place in or outside of the church for our young people in middle and high school fall under this team.

Children's Ministry

Children's Ministries include Children's Worship and Wonder, Vacation Bible School, promoting church camp, and coordinating all other events and activities which involve children in the nursery through grade 5.

Also included are Children's Messages, in partnership with the pastor.

Evangelism/Membership Committee

The Evangelism Committee is responsible for determining strategies to invite visitors to our church and welcome new members/attenders into the life of the congregation.

Stewardship and Finance Committee

The Stewardship and Finance Committee has responsibility for all matters relating to church finances and the budget. The Committee directs the annual Stewardship campaign and prepares the church budget for submission to the Church Council.

Adult Spiritual Growth Committee

The Adult Spiritual Growth Committee is responsible for adult education (Sunday, and otherwise), including the recruitment of teachers, partnering with the pastor in selection of class materials, promotion of denominational activities such as General and Regional Assembly. Intergenerational educational opportunities will be coordinated between the Adult Spiritual Growth Committee and the Children/Youth Education Committee.

Worship Committee

Coordinates with the pastor and music director in planning the formal worship of the church. This includes ordering and maintaining all worship supplies, changing paraments and banners, and ordering supplies for all special worship services.

During the Week of Ministry, the committee sends cards to former and current ministers. They also buy gift cards for the staff and present them during a worship service in October.

Hospitality Committee

Responsible for the planning of any fellowship activity on Sunday mornings, Fellowship Time following worship services, church dinners (in coordination with appropriate other committees, church picnics, social events, and activities involving the use of Fellowship Hall. Seasonal decorating in Fellowship Hall is another responsibility.

CCC Decorating Team

The CCC Decorating Team handles the beautiful seasonal decorating of the sanctuary, the Welcome Area, and the foyer. The Decorating Team prepares the church for the changing of the seasons and every church holiday.

Property Committee

The Property Committee handles the maintenance, repair, and insurance of the church property (in cooperation with the church trustees).

Audio/Visual Team

This team handles the audio/visual equipment during service. They broadcast the service live on our facebook page, control the camera for what is seen in the live stream, control the slide show on the monitors, and control mics and audio.

Bereavement Dinners

Bereavement dinners are provided by the church for families following the funeral of their loved one. Volunteers sign up to bring food, set-up, and clean-up.
